Welcome to Irmo Middle School!

 

Dear IMS Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope this message finds you well and that you have enjoyed a wonderful summer. As Principal of Irmo Middle School, it is my absolute pleasure to welcome both our returning families and those joining us for the very first time.

This year marks a truly special milestone as Irmo Middle School celebrates its 50th Anniversary - our Golden Jubilee. For five decades, IMS has been a place where students have discovered their potential, built lifelong friendships, and prepared for bright futures. As we celebrate this rich legacy, we are also embracing the opportunity to shape the next fifty years. Our Golden Jubilee theme reminds us that we are all stewards of the traditions, excellence, and culture that make Irmo Middle School so special. Together, we will honor our past while inspiring our students to learn, lead, and leave their own lasting legacy.

We are excited to kick off the year with several upcoming events that will help you and your student get connected and prepared:

  • 📅 Monday, August 3 | 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    Open Campus – Tour the building, locate classrooms, and have your questions answered about transportation, athletics, after-school opportunities, and more.
  • 📅 Thursday, August 6 | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
    Back-to-School Night – Meet your child's teachers, build connections with our staff, and receive valuable information to help ensure a successful school year.
  • 📅 Tuesday, August 11
    First Day of School – We can't wait to welcome our Yellow Jackets back through our doors!

At IMS, we value strong partnerships between school and home. Your involvement plays a vital role in the success of our students and school community. One great way to stay involved and make a difference is by joining our School Improvement Council (SIC). If you’re interested in joining, please complete this brief SIC Sign-Up Form.
