Head Lice Information for Parents

Every year concern over head lice is raised in the school community.  Head lice are often diagnosed in the school setting because that is where children spend the majority of their waking hours. This does not mean lice are spread easily in school just that school is often the first place it is noticed.

Combing through your child’s head on a regular basis will alert you to the first signs of head lice infestation so you can take steps to control its spread.   If you suspect your child has head lice contact your school nurse who can confirm it and show you ways to treat the infestation.
